Summer Reading Program Celebration

August 10 marked the end of Chapel Hill Public Library’s Summer Reading Program and  their Kindle Giveaway event celebration.  The CHPL Foundation had donated three Kindle Touch e-readers to the reading programs.

Three Kindle Touch devices were awarded to the grand prize winners of the Library’s Summer Reading programs, one to each of the three programs (for children, teens and for young adults).

The family concert featuring “kindie rock” band Lunch Money (sponsored by Friends of the Library) was a great way to celebrate over 23,500 hours of reading by the 1,308 participants in the Library’s Summer Reading Program.

To add to the fun, the “kindie rock” band Lunch Money performed for all the children at University Mall!
