Foundation’s Annual Costume Party – OCTOBER 28, 2016

The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation hosted our 2nd Annual Costume Party at the Carolina Club on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2016.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we traveled back in time to the rash and romantic mayhem of the Roaring ’20s … sweet sounds of jazz, forbidden tastes of libations, and some high-rollin’ at the gaming tables.  There were also one-of-a-kind items in the Silent and Live Auctions.  This is one speakeasy that will be talked about!

The CHPL Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to enhance the capabilities, resources, and services of the Library.  Over 1,600 people visit our Library each day (more than 2x the state average!) and 1.3 million items are checked out each year.  Every year there is a greater demand for services and programs.

To keep up with such high demand, private funds must supplement public dollars. CHPLF, a 501(c)(3) organization, secures private funding that ensures the high standards of excellence and best practices the Library provides that are available to our diverse community of avid readers and lifelong learners.  Your participation, through donations and attendance, help make this possible.
